Dr. David Chau is an optometric therapeutic glaucoma specialist, having received his degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Born and raised in New York, he received his Bachelor’s and Masters in Biology from Adelphi University.

Born and raised in New York, he received his Bachelor’s and Masters in Biology from Adelphi University. His prior experience includes managing patients with dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other vitreoretinal diseases in clinics in rural Oklahoma, and a veteran affairs hospital in San Antonio, Texas. He worked with several ophthalmologists before opening Evolutionary Eye Care with Dr. Anith Pillai.
Dr. Chau’s passion in optometry ranges from seeing patients with ocular surface disorder (commonly known as dry eye disease), fitting patients with contact lenses, and seeing patients with low vision. His passion and primary focus involve seeing pediatric patients with binocular vision disorders ranging from amblyopes, strabismus, accommodative disorder, and learning-related visual problems. He also sees patients for neuro-optometric rehabilitation focusing on traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Dr. Chau takes pride in providing a high level of care by keeping abreast of the latest developments in ocular treatment and therapy by attending and giving continuing education classes. He is a proud member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), Harris County Optometric Society, and Texas Optometric Association (TOA). He has done extensive training in binocular vision and vision rehabilitation by being part of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF), the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA).
You may see him and his wife visiting different local restaurants when he is not in the clinic. Dr. Chau’s hobbies include working out and following his Mets, Knicks, Ranges, Jets, and Giants. NO, Dr. Chau IS NOT a Yankees fan!

He was raised in Sugar Land, Texas, where he attended school through his sophomore year of high school, upon which he continued his education at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science in Denton, TX. He then moved to Austin, Texas, to complete his B.A. in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em Horns!).

He was raised in Sugar Land, Texas, where he attended school through his sophomore year of high school, upon which he continued his education at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science in Denton, TX. He then moved to Austin, Texas, to complete his B.A. in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em Horns!).
His educational career sent him back to his hometown of Houston at the University of Houston College of Optometry. He received his Doctorate in Optometry and graduated with the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Pillai then moved to practice in a small town clinic in Uvalde, Texas, where he emphasized diabetic retinopathy, foreign body removals, and LASIK and cataract co-management. He then joined an extensive ophthalmology practice working with up-to-date diagnostic tools and working side by side with many of the nation’s leaders in intraocular surgery and research.
He then decided to fulfill his dream of opening his own practice. He found his friend and colleague Dr. David Chau had the same dream, and Evolutionary Eye Care was born! Dr. Pillai specializes in anterior segment disease, including keratoconus, corneal degenerations and dystrophies, ocular surface disease, scleral lenses and specialty contacts, and myopia management. Dr. Pillai is also certified in orthokeratology, a corneal reshaping technology that uses laser-free vision correction to help stop nearsightedness progression.
Dr. Pillai has earned fellowship in the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, and the Scleral Lens Education Society. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and serves as President of the Harris County Optometric Association. Dr. Pillai enjoys basketball and football, and is a diehard Houston Rockets, Houston Texans, and Texas Longhorn fan!

Dr. Ananya Sen Gupta is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She was born and raised in The Netherlands, but Texas has been her home for the last 17 years. She grew up in the Sugar Land area through high school and then moved to Houston for college.

She grew up in the Sugar Land area through high school and then moved to Houston for college. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Houston Honors College, and minored in Biology. She went on to obtain her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she focused on ocular disease and was a clinical teaching assistant during her last year. She gained further valuable experiences while completing rotations at the Katy VA hospital and at a private practice in Denver where she focused on vision therapy and the rehabilitation of patients with traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Sen Gupta specializes in the diagnosis and management of Glaucoma, Retinal Disease, and Ocular Surface Diseases such as Dry Eye Syndrome. She also provides pre-operative and post-operative co-management for cataract surgery and LASIK. She believes that no two patients are the same, and therefore she’s passionate about delivering personalized and customized clinical care. She is a proud member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. Outside of work, Dr. Sen Gupta enjoys cooking, trying out new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She is also a huge fan of the fine arts, and is a singer and dancer herself!

As a native Houstonian, Dr. Tiffany Huynh is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Houston, and also spent her undergraduate years creating lesson plans and teaching grade school students to complete the teachHOUSTON program.

During her optometric education, she served veterans at South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio, providing primary care eye examinations, fitting scleral and gas permeable contact lenses, and managing ocular diseases. She also rotated at a private practice in Houston, further gaining experiences in specialty contact lenses, myopia and dry eye management, pediatrics, and vision therapy.
Dr. Huynh graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO), receiving the Ebling Award in Medical Contact Lens Patient Care. Upon graduation, she completed the Ocular Disease Residency at UHCO, which included rotations at Retina & Vitreous of Texas, Houston Methodist Hospital (neuro-ophthalmology), and Houston Eye Associates (glaucoma/uveitis/cornea).
Her professional interests include ocular disease, pediatrics, myopia control, dry eye management, specialty contact lenses, and co-management of LASIK & cataract surgeries.
She is also a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Texas Optometric Association (TOA).
Dr. Huynh is passionate about providing the best quality eyecare experience tailored to her patients' needs!
When not seeing patients, she loves to travel with family and friends, go to museums, watch Broadway shows, and play tennis or badminton. You might also catch Dr. Huynh at an Astros game or eating at her favorite food spots (ask her for recs)!
